Lee Brennan comes to Giving Design after retiring from international design firm Cuningham Group Architecture, P.A., bringing with him over 39 years of professional experience encompassing all aspects of project delivery, from strategic planning and programming through design and construction.
Lee led the HEAL market group for Cuningham Group, is a former member of their board of directors and continues to work as a healthcare planning consultant to Cuningham Group and others in addition to his board member role with Giving Design. He continually works to provide creative and innovative responses to meet the challenges facing the healthcare industry.
A consistent leader in planning, design and project management, Lee has worked with a wide range of clients, including public and private real estate developers, investor-owned companies, publicly held corporations, nonprofit organizations, universities, city and county governments, and federal agencies.
While his career has encompassed a multitude of building typologies, for the last 32 years Brennan has primarily focused on the delivery of projects for large healthcare systems such as Dignity Health, Kaiser Permanente, Keck Medicine, Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, Providence Health Services, Sutter Health, University of California and the Veterans Administration.
His work and writings have been published in Architectural Record, Design Journal, Form Magazine, Inland Architect, Medical Design and Construction, Progressive Architecture, and Texas Architect, and he has played instrumental roles in projects that have received design awards from Progressive Architecture and the American Institute of Architects.
Lee Brennan’s professional affiliations include the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Westside Family Health Center (Advisory Council) and the ULI Building Healthy Places Initiative. He was the 2019 keynote speaker at the Healthcare Modern Engineering Systems International Conference in Kazan, Russia.
